I am creating my own binary number system. The symbols I am using are + and _. I decided to use these because they are easy to decipher and appear as if the one is a positive and the underscore is worth nothing (similar to positive and negative signs).
+ represents 1
_ represents 0
I will represent this by creating a sentence with my new code:
I like cookies.
I= _+_ _+
space= _ _ _ _ _
L= _++_ _
I= _+_ _+
K= _+_++
E= _ _+_+
space= _ _ _ _ _
C= _ _ _++
O= _++++
O= _++++
K=_+_++
I=_+_ _+
E= _ _+_+
S= +_ _ _ _
Sophie, I really like the symbols you used because they are very easy to distinguish between them. You made it very simple to use which is a good thing. I love your binary code and I had a lot of fun using it to create words and even a sentence. Why did you choose these certain symbols to use for your code? Is it because of the simplicity? Either way, I really think that it is interesting and fun!
ReplyDeleteJill- I chose these symbols to represent my numbers because the plus seemed to represent a positive number like the number one, while the underscore was similar to a negative sign which makes me think of zero because it has no worth.
DeleteI really like how you used + and - signs for your new binary code. It showed that it can relate to math in other way than numbers. Your code is very interesting and easy to understand. What are so other binary codes that you found interesting?
ReplyDeleteKalli- I also liked how some people used slashes and back slashes, but I thought it would be a bit confusing.
DeleteSophie, I saw your new code and used it to write a sentence of my own. I really like how the _ and + signs look so different, which makes it easy to tell which are on and which are off. The code is easy to understand and fun to use. The sentence you wrote is great, and I like cookies too.Did you like this project?
